Aathun, an initiative born to safeguard and support the Rajasthani folk musicians. When the lockdown was in place due to Covid-19, it rendered a lot of people penniless. The restrictions on travel worsened the plight of folk artists. Tourism for them was indirectly the only major source of earning. Their dedication and artistry in folk music also earned them shows once in a while. But even this is now underwater. Additionally, they do not have the privilege to work from home.
How can we, as responsible tourists, do our bit?
What is Aathun?
Aathun is an initiative undertaken and supported by Rajasthan Studio. It aims at safeguarding the folk musicians and artists of Rajasthan. Also, the gap bridges between the folk artists and their audience. (Rajasthan Studio is an experiences hub that connects you from artists across India.)
